How we collect, use, and share information related to the VWFEST website and community, with California privacy rights and web3 specifics.
This Privacy Policy describes how VWFEST ("we", "us") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information related to your use of our website, social channels, and any related tools, smart contracts, or digital assets (the "Service"). This Policy is intended to comply with California law, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). It is not legal advice.
Identifiers: wallet/public addresses, IP address, device identifiers, cookie IDs, and if you provide it, contact details (e.g., email, social handle).
Commercial and transactional information: interactions with our Service, non-custodial transaction metadata you choose to share with us, and public on‑chain activity associated with your wallet address.
Internet or electronic network activity: log data, diagnostics, performance and security data, and analytics about how you use the Service.
Approximate geolocation: inferred from IP address. We do not request precise geolocation.
Inferences: limited inferences we or our processors may draw to improve or secure the Service.
We do not intentionally collect Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, financial account numbers, or similar sensitive personal information through the Service. Public blockchain data may nevertheless reveal patterns when combined with other information.
• Directly from you when you interact with us or provide contact details.
• Automatically from your device via cookies or similar technologies.
• From publicly available blockchains when you interact with smart contracts.
• From service providers and partners that support our operations.
• Provide, operate, maintain, and secure the Service.
• Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents, and illegal activity.
• Debug, analyze, and improve functionality and user experience.
• Communicate with you about updates or community information you request.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We may disclose personal information to: (i) service providers and contractors acting on our behalf under appropriate agreements; (ii) affiliates for operational purposes; (iii) authorities or others where required by law or to protect rights and safety; and (iv) parties to a business transfer (e.g., merger, acquisition). We do not provide custodial services and we do not control public blockchains.
We do not sell personal information for money. We may allow limited third‑party analytics that could be considered "sharing" for cross‑context behavioral advertising under California law. You have the right to opt‑out of sale or sharing at any time.
How to Opt‑Out: Send a request to privacy@vwfest.example with the subject "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" and include your browser, device details, and any identifiers (e.g., wallet, cookie ID) relevant to your request. We will also honor browser‑level Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where detected.
Subject to exceptions, California residents may have the right to: (1) know/access categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, used, disclosed, sold, or shared; (2) delete personal information; (3) correct inaccurate information; (4) opt‑out of sale or sharing; (5) limit use and disclosure of sensitive personal information (to the extent collected for non‑exempt purposes); and (6) data portability. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
How to Submit a Request: Email privacy@vwfest.example and specify your request. We may ask for information necessary to verify your identity and residency (e.g., email confirmation, on‑chain signature from the wallet you control). You may also authorize an agent to act for you if you provide proof of authorization. We aim to respond within the timelines required by law.
We and our providers may use cookies or similar technologies for functionality, security, and analytics. We honor GPC signals where reasonably detectable. Industry standards for "Do Not Track" are not uniform; we do not respond to DNT signals at this time.
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. On‑chain data recorded to public blockchains cannot be altered or deleted by us.
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of consumers under 18. If you believe a child provided information, contact us to request deletion.
Information may be processed in the United States and other locations. By using the Service, you acknowledge these transfers.
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the effective date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect signifies acceptance.
